A workshop on Introduction to Bharat Scouts and Guides was conducted on this day at Ladybird School auditorium at 10:00 a.m. The senior and active members of the Bharat Scouts and Guides of Mokokchung namely, Mr. Lipokmar, DOC (Scout), Madam Tovili Wati, DOC (Guide), Mr. Talitemsu Scout Master & Mr. Bendangmeren Longkumer (District Coordinator OYMS) were invited as the resource persons.
The guest speaker Mr. Lipokmar shared in brief the historical background of Bharat Scouts and guides and how it started in Mokokchung District in the year 1949. He also highlighted about the fundamentals of Bharat Scouts and Guides, the duties and the promise and laws in brief. He also thanked the two teachers Mr. Imkongchiba and Ms. Rongsenlemla who completed the basic course training on scouts and guides for rendering their service beyond academics.
Another guest speaker Madam Tovili dwelled on the benefits of scouts and guides and how it disciplines a person from a young age. Mr. Talitemsu shared some ways and means for generating fund for the scouts and guides unit in a school by presenting experiences from his school.
The parents association representatives also expressed gratitude to the school administration for starting with the Scouts and Guides unit and encouraged the teachers to continue with their good efforts to give their best service for the students. Dr. Naro, Academic In-charge, in her concluding remarks expressed gratitude to the guest speakers and to the parents and students and teachers for their cooperation.
