1st Training Camp for Outsiders & 6th Ladybird School Free Shooting Training Camp for students from Class II – X

The Ladybird School Shooting Academy organized a Training Camp for the students and outsiders from 10 to 15 April, 2023.

19 Registered Shooters of Ladybird school shooting Academy and 32 new trainees participated in the training Camp.

All the trainees were trained under the expertise of

  1. Mr. Lipokmeren, Coach, Ladybird School Shooting Academy.
  2. Mr. Tiatemjen, renowned shooter & Coach from Aries Rifle and Pistol Shooting Academy, khelo India Center, Dimapur.

Day 1, 10 April 2023

Introduction to Basic Training Camp                       

The program started with a welcome and introductory speech by the academic in-charge who emphasized on the importance of shooting sports and how taking up any sports as a recreational activity helps an individual to led an active life and how it can develop into career building if one pursues it consistently in the process of acquiring education.

After the speech, Mr. Tiatemjen demonstrated on the uses and identification of different parts of air pistol and air rifle, body postures and rules of shooting sports in brief.

A short physical trill was conducted after the demonstration by Sir. Pushong, physical education teacher of the school  after which all the participants were taken to the 10m meter shooting range where the range official and senior shooters assisted the two coaches in the introduction of all the participants to the use of weapons and safety rules.

Activities Conducted in the Training Camp from 11 – 14 April 2023

1. Detailing of weapons & dry shots

2. Wall holding and push-up exercises

3. Grooming of registered Shooters (standing & bench rest)

4. Revision of parts of weapons

5. Body postures, breathing, 12 o’ clock approach, alignment, triggering, follow through

6. Live round shooting for all Trainees and guiding them on how to load, align, trigger and follow through  

Final Day 15 April 2023

In Session – 1, Record Shooting of all the new trainees started from 10 a.m. onwards and it was conducted according to the rules of ISSF. After refreshment, the trainees interacted with one another and shared their learning experiences in the training camp.

In session- 2, the closing program was conducted where Mr. Lipokmeren shared the vote of thanks to all the participants for their enthusiasm and discipline that made the training camp a successful one. He also thanked Mr Sunep (range official) and senior shooters who all assisted from day 1 till the end of the training camp. It is with the sincere efforts of all involved in the training camp that has proved it to be a beneficial camp for all.

In conclusion, he extended immense gratitude to Mr. Merang Jamir (ISSF Coach & Judge) and President, Nagaland Rifle Association for his consistent help and guidance to Ladybird School shooting Academy from its inception till today and for supervising and taking care of the logistics towards grooming and providing the platform for our young shooters to participate in the different levels of shooting championships. He also extended gratitude to Mr. Tiatemjen for coming from Aries Rifle and Pistol Shooting Academy, khelo India Center, Dimapur, and for his assistance in grooming and imparting new techniques & skill sets in shooting sport which he has acquired  through participation at zonal and national championships. 

Mr. Tiatemjen commented with positive feedback on the efforts of the trainees and motivated all of them in his speech to pursue their interest, potential & skills with consistent practice.

The training camp came to an end with distribution of certificates followed by a photo session.
