Teachers Training for Professional Skill Development

On 21st February 2026, Ladybird School held a Teacher’s Training Programme in the school auditorium. The resource person, Mr. Ranjan Sarangi, an academic trainer, led sessions on Competency‑Based Education (CBE), the evolving role of teachers in CBE, the 4Cs of NEP 2020, VARK learning styles, and career counselling.

He emphasized that, in CBE, teachers shift from being instructors to facilitators, moving from “I teach” to “I guide students to learn.” The 4Cs of NEP 2020—Critical Thinking, Creativity, Communication, and Collaboration—were highlighted as essential skills to integrate into teaching. He also explained the VARK model: Visual (learning through seeing), Auditory (learning through listening), Reading/Writing (learning through text), and Kinesthetic (learning through doing).

Mr. Sarangi stressed that CBE focuses on applying knowledge in real‑life contexts, with teachers acting as designers, facilitators, assessors, mentors, coaches, technology and data users, real‑world connectors, collaborators with peers and parents, and lifelong learners. In this framework, teachers serve as skill‑builders, mentors, and learning partners. He further emphasized the use of regional languages till grade 5 in the teaching‑learning process to make learning more effective and to promote deeper understanding and knowledge.

The programme included games to encourage collaboration and teamwork, as well as activities designed to actively engage students in learning.
