World Environment Day was observed at Ladybird School on the theme, “Lets Beat Plastic & Plant Trees for Green Environment”

         Collection of plastic wrappers, bottles and bags was conducted at school from Nursery to Class X and the collected waste materials were weighed and deposited at Mokokchung Municipal Council Material Recovery Facility. The collected plastics materials weighed 14.5 kg.

         Students of Class V participated enthusiastically in the planting of saplings around the school surroundings. Altogether 3 teachers and 26 students engaged with the cleaning and planting of the tree saplings.

         Moreover, from Scouts and Guides Club of the school, two students – Mr. Maongtemsu and Ms. Imronginla of Class VII and VI respectively, participated in the painting competition organized by the Bharat Scouts and Guides, Mokokchung District on the theme – ‘Ending Global Plastic Pollution’. The painting competition was held at the Sr. SDEO conference hall, Mokokchung. The participants were accompanied by the scouts master, Sir. Imkongchiba  and guides captain, Ms. Rongsenlemla of the school. The participants received consolation prize and certificate of participation.
