REPORT ON THE SPIRITUAL RETREAT PROGRAM
Date: 17th – 18th July, 2025
Theme: Let Your Light Shine
Classes: Nursery to Class 10
Ladybird School successfully conducted a two-day Spiritual Retreat Program on the 17th and 18th of July, 2025, with the theme “Let Your Light Shine.” The program aimed to deepen students’ spiritual awareness, build moral values, and guide them to live intentionally as lights in the world. Sessions were held separately for different groups to ensure age-appropriate teaching and interaction.



Nursery to Class II (Group A)
Resource Person: Ms. Tiajungla, CED, Alempang Baptist Arogo
Each day began with prayer and action songs, creating a joyful and engaging environment. Ms. Tiajungla shared Bible-based stories, songs, and simple lessons, encouraging the children to live with love, kindness, and faith.
Activities Conducted:
• Day 1: Colouring activity based on the theme “Let Your Light Shine.” The best artwork from each class was selected and appreciated.
• Day 2: Paper pasting activities on a light bulb template, helping students visually remember the lesson “Jesus Is My Light.”
The retreat concluded with a special prayer for the children’s spiritual growth.
Classes 3–5 (Group B)
Resource Person: Mrs. Kerem, Christian Education Ministry, Alempang Baptist Arogo
The sessions began with Praise & Worship for Groups B and C (Classes :III-X), led by Mr. Supongsashi and the Worship Team. An icebreaker session followed, encouraging interaction among students.
Mrs. Kerem taught students about self-awareness, recognizing personal strengths and weaknesses, and connecting to a higher purpose through stories, moral lessons, and activities.
Activities Conducted:
• Sun Crown Making: Students created sun crowns from chart paper.
• Five Strengths Exercise: Each student listed five personal strengths, one on each finger outline, to build confidence and self-reflection.
The sessions helped students learn to value themselves and understand how to live out the theme “Let Your Light Shine.”
Classes VI–X (Group C)
The upper classes participated in sessions led by facilitators from the local church, focusing on spiritual awakening and walking in God’s light. Each session began with Praise & Worship, creating an atmosphere of reverence.
Day 1: Called to Shine
Theme Verse: Matthew 5:14–16 – “You are the light of the world.”
Students learned about encountering God’s light through biblical examples such as Moses (Exodus 3 & 19), Isaiah (Isaiah 6), Paul (Acts 9), Zacchaeus, and Jeremiah (Jeremiah 1). The day concluded with an altar call, where many students stepped forward for prayer and personal commitment.
Day 2: Walking in the Light
Key Verses:
• 1 John 1:5–6 – “God is light; in Him there is no darkness at all.”
• John 8:12 – “I am the light of the world.”
• Jeremiah 29:11 – “For I know the plans I have for you…”
Lessons included the danger of comparison (Psalm 73), the need for spiritual readiness (Matthew 25:13), and the power of forgiveness, using Joseph’s story. The session concluded with James 5:16, highlighting the importance of honest confession and mutual prayer.
Teachers’ Session
A special session for teachers was held on the second day, beginning with praise songs led by the Worship Team. This was followed by a feedback session where group co-ordinators, worship team, and resource persons shared their reflections on the retreat.
Speaker, Mr. Akumwapang, Youth Promoter, Alempang Baptist Arogo, shared a motivating message for the teachers, emphasizing their role in awakening the spiritual light in students and guiding them in their life journey.
The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Mrs. Wapangjungla (Programme co-ordinator, Asst. Teacher), and Dr. Imchanaro (Academic In-Charge.)
Conclusion
The 2025 Spiritual Retreat at Ladybird School was a meaningful and impactful event for students and teachers alike. Through interactive lessons, creative activities, worship, and reflection, students from Nursery to Class 10 were encouraged to live out the theme “Let Your Light Shine”, building spiritual strength and personal growth.
