On 12th August 2025, Ladybird School witnessed the arrival of the Food Safety on Wheels programme, a mobile food testing and training laboratory initiated by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI). This innovative project aims to ensure that safe and hygienic food reaches even the most remote parts of the community.
The visiting team included Hamche Phom (Lab Technician), Maongbenla, Lanusanen ( Lab Assistant), and Imkongnuksung (Lab Assistant). Together, they conducted demonstrations, offered food testing services, and created awareness on the importance of food safety practices.
Through this mobile unit, the team not only tested food samples but also educate the students on hygiene, food handling, and the prevention of contamination. The initiative reflects FSSAI’s commitment to protecting public health by promoting the availability of quality and safe food for all.
With programmes like Food Safety on Wheels, the dream of reaching every household with safe, hygienic, and nutritious food comes closer to reality.
